I would really like to give Bobby's a better rating, as they are a local shop and I know probably most of the work they do is good. However, in my situation, I brought a diesel truck to them last June to diagnose why the wrench light was coming on. I have had multiple family members who are skilled mechanics run scanners on my truck several times, and the only code that ever came up was PO12F. Bobby's said code P0480 came up and that indicated the fan clutch. OK fine, I agreed to have them replace the fan clutch at 1K, but 10 miles down the road the light came back on. I took the truck back for further diagnostics and they wanted me to replace the engine oil cooler at 3K. I could tell the technician was guessing and I was not about to spend 3K on a guess. I don't use the truck every day and the wrench light only came on typically after some distance, so I was not pressed about taking it to another shop right away. The light would go away when you turned off and back on. No temperatures read suspect either. Anyway, long story short, I took it to my Ford guys and they replaced the thermostat. No more wrench light! My problem with Bobby's is that they would have had me spend 3K on a repair that wasn't needed and still would not have resolved the issue. 😞
